Dear Families & Friends,

Welcome to the merry, merry month of May!  If it felt like time was flying before this month, then we are moving at warp speed now!  Do you feel it too?  Each day brings new learning, activities, and opportunities, as well as one day closer to the end of the school year.  With so much left to accomplish, our days here at school are full!

With all of the events happening this month, you will most likely find yourself at school.  Please take a moment to visit the Lost and Found, located in the Cafeteria.  There are lots of items waiting to be reunited with their owners!  All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the school year.

RALLY for ALLI!  We are excitedly preparing for our Rally for Alli Family Trivia Night on May 23rd.  Ms. Turner’s 5th grade class is taking the lead in supporting their classmate and her family, and we are looking forward to a wonderful night of family fun.  We continue to be amazed by the care, empathy, and support our students, families, teachers, and staff show to all members of our school community.  We hope to see you at Trivia Night!

EMPATHY is our word of the month for May.  Having empathy is seeing the world through another person’s eyes.  It is listening, trying to understand where they are coming from or what they are experiencing, and expressing or showing our care, concern, or support.  Empathy is easy to express, but sometimes more difficult to put into action.  Our lessons this month focus on how we can show empathy for others in all that we do.

The month of May is full of excitement and learning, and we are grateful for the many experiences we are fortunate enough to share with your children.

Until next time,

Lois Connors, Principal                                   Sarah Muncey, Assistant Principal
