Welcome back!

I am currently working with third and fourth graders.

Here is a little glimpse into what happens in my classroom.  My curriculum is centered around the students’ IEP goals and other areas of need. We work in small groups to meet those needs. Throughout the year students will take various assessments which provide me with feedback on their reading and math skills. My first task is to complete benchmark assessments for my students to find their reading level. I also administer STAR assessments several times a year to assess reading and math skills.

Language Arts instruction consists of reading and writing. During reading we read short stories and discuss them. There are various activities that may go along with each story. For example, writing about the literature, drawing a picture, word work, etc. We also review sight words, practice phonics skills, and play educational games sometimes. For writing, we practice writing complete sentences and developing them into paragraphs. We also edit sentences looking for grammatical mistakes.

In Math, students practice math fact fluency and focus on their areas of need. I incorporate topics they are currently working on in their regular education classroom, utilize manipulatives, and develop strategies/tools to assist them with maintaining math progress.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or concerns. You can email me directly at Please note that there are two "M. Levesque" at the school, so my email has the first TWO letters of my first name.  Thank You!

Let’s make 2020-2021 a great year!
